They weren’t kidding about the cicadas

All winter long, we’ve been hearing about Cicadageddon, the incoming onslaught of noisy locust-like bugs that will emerge from the ground and cover every surface with their bodies and shells.

They weren’t kidding.

If you live in Wheaton, you’ve already seen them. Go on a short walk and you’ll see them covering tree trunks, flopping around on the ground, flying into your face (ugh), and of course, dead. No to mention the continuous buzzing from dawn ’til dusk.

I remember cicadas from growing up in the midwest and a few in Arizona. This is something completely different. This is CicadaCon. Cicadazilla. Cicadapalooza.

For some reason Jenni loves the little buggers and they seem to love her, too. They even follow her around on the porch and make eyes at her. So weird. But that means she gets some amazing photos. Check them out!
